Suspension For Des Moines DART Driver Over Atheist Ad – WHO

Posted: August 20, 2009 in News Articles

The ad above, which appeared weeks ago on Des Moines, IA DART buses which reads "Don’t believe in god? You’re not alone," has created a lot of controversy. Days after they first appeared on the buses, DART removed them, citing complaints from riders.

Then, the ACLU complained, claiming removal of the ads was unconstitutional. So, the ads returned.

Now a driver for Des Moines Area Region Transit Authority has been suspended for refusing to drive a bus bearing the controversial advertisement. Angela Shiel says the ad, paid for by an atheist group, is against her faith.

"I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to my death your right to say it." Voltaire…I think

Get a clue Ms. Shiel. I seriously doubt your God wants you to be suspended from work for sticking up for Him. He’s made it quite clear what He plans to do with those who don’t believe in Him. So let Him handle it.

BOY! This sure does open a lot of different arguements.Bottom line, God does know your heart, but…… (don’t get me started, I could argue both points)…………………………………………………………………………………………..I saw a billboard sign that read: NEED HELP, CALL JESUS 1-800-005-3787 So out of curiosity, I did. A Mexican showed up with a lawnmower.

Sounds like a hard working mexi-can rather than a mexi-can’t.
